Don’t rush with brushing!
You should spend at least two minutes brushing. Tilt the toothbrush at an angle of 45 degrees and ensure that the outer and inner surfaces of the upper and lower teeth are cleaned. And be gentle.
Visit your dentist once every 6 months.

What is the difference between a dental implant and a dental crown?
A dental implant is a titanium screw that acts as a tooth root and as a support on which a dental crown is built, replacing the visible part of the tooth. A dental crown completely replaces the visible part of the tooth and, with careful selection of shape, size, and color, can be perfectly matched to adjacent teeth and look completely natural.
Am I a candidate for the ALL-ON-4 or ALL-ON 6 methods if I have some of my own teeth?
During the examination, the dentist will be able to assess the condition of your existing teeth and recommend the type of bridge, and if your existing teeth are in poor condition, they may be extracted, which is often the case when patients opt for this method.
What is the lifespan of a dental bridge?
With proper oral health and hygiene care, dental bridges can last up to 20 years, just like dental crowns.
Are zirconia or metal-ceramic crowns better?
Zirconia crowns are always recommended as they are the best, but in cases where this is not possible, metal-ceramic crowns are fitted, which are extremely strong, durable and meet the aesthetic requirements for a beautiful smile. Porcelain-fused-to-metal crowns are usually recommended for molars, while zirconia crowns are particularly recommended for the front teeth.
How to know if Invisalign is suitable for every patient?
At the Jelić Practice, patients are advised on which orthodontic treatment would be ideal for them, taking into account the condition of their teeth, their bite and their expectations. For some cases, Invisalign is ideal, but for more severe, complex anomalies, the only solution may be fixed orthodontic treatment. How is the colour of dental veneers chosen?
The dentist at the Balenović Practice treats each patient individually, and the preparatory stage is a crucial step in aligning the patient’s options and expectations. The aim is to achieve a final result that will be perfectly natural and attractive. The shade is chosen according to the patient’s preferences and the available options to ensure a natural appearance, that the colour is fully matched with the rest of the teeth and is not, for example, too white, which would make it look unnatural.
Does teeth whitening damage teeth?
The methods used for laser teeth whitening at the Balenović Dental Practice are fully tested and safe for dental health, and do not damage the enamel.
How often is sandblasting of teeth recommended?
Sandblasting is recommended once or twice a year as part of professional teeth cleaning. Some people accumulate plaque more quickly, so the dentist may recommend having their teeth sandblasted more often if necessary.
When I moved to Zagreb five years ago, on recommendation I went to see Dr. Balenović. After a few painlessly treated cavities and one tooth extraction, I decided, in consultation with the doctor, to have veneers fitted on my first four front teeth, which completely transformed my self-confidence and have made me so happy and carefree that I forget I ever had them put on!
